This self-paced, online training course has been developed by the Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH) to give line managers and supervisors the tools they need to identify and control safety risks, in accordance with organisational policy and general health and safety regulations.
There are 24 hours of tuition in this e-learning course, which is made up of reading material, videos, interactive activities and revision tasks.

At the end of this remote learning course, delegates take an online exam of 25 multiple-choice questions. Once the exam has been passed, students have two weeks to complete an online practical risk assessment project. Results of the risk assessment project are emailed within 2-3 weeks.
On successful completion of both the exam and online project, delegates are awarded the IOSH Managing Safely Certificate. Certificates come in a hardcopy format and will be posted.
You must submit assessments within the agreed timescales, or you will risk failing the course.

After gaining a qualification in IOSH Managing Safely, many candidates go on to study for a NEBOSH Certificate (General, International, Construction and/or Fire Certificates).
No. There is no time limit to complete the course and you're free to learn at your own pace. The training can be taken in as many sessions as you wish or completed in one go.
Yes the course is certified by CPD (Continuing Professional Development). Many of our online courses are also approved by RoSPA (Royal Society of the Prevention of Accidents).
