About the CITB SMSTS Refresher Course
An SMSTS qualification is an essential part of site safety management training and is accredited by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) and nationally recognised within the construction industry.
The SMSTS Refresher Course provides a comprehensive overview of legislative changes and what these changes mean for the delegates and their and colleagues in the workplace.
Who is this SMSTS Refresher Course for?
The 2 day CITB SMSTS Refresher Training course is designed for candidates who have already passed the SMSTS Course. The SMSTS Certificate is valid for 5 years from the date of issue. Delegates will need to provide a copy of their original SMSTS Certificate and MUST attend both days in order to obtain their refresher certification.

- Overview of proposed/impending legislation
- RIDDOR - Accident statistics, costs, causes, management responsibilities/methods in prevention

- Safety management systems, policies, plans and performance measuring
- Management of Contractors
- Communication and consultation aspects, effective use of 'toolbox talks' and 'site inductions'
- Behavioural safety including awareness of human error, stress and prevention
