This 2 day Mental Health First Aid course will be delivered remotely, using instructor-led online learning. The course content remains the same as classroom-based training, however, you’ll attend a scheduled, interactive class via Zoom video conferencing.
This Mental Health course has been developed by Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) It aims to give those attending a thorough understanding of what mental health is and what can affect a person’s wellbeing. Candidates will learn practical skills that will enable them to spot the signs of mental illness, and on completion they will have the confidence to step in and support someone who needs help.

Those attending will look in-depth at a number of disorders including alcohol, drugs and anxiety disorders, Schizophrenia, Bipolar, personality disorders and eating disorders. Symptoms of these disorders and treatments will be discussed e.g. cognitive distortions and cognitive behavioural therapy.
Discussions will include crisis first aid after a traumatic event, learning how to develop non-judgemental listening skills and understanding the MHFA action plan and how to use it.

There is no formal assessment for this remote learning course but those attending must complete all sections and on completion will receive a Mental Health First Aider certificate.
This Online remote learning 2 Day Adult Mental Health First Aid Course MHFA is the ideal course for those who want to gain the skills to have non-judgmental conversations with colleagues and recognise the signs and symptoms of common workplace mental health issues. The aim is that candidates can identify a mental health issue and effectively guide a person towards the right help and support.
Please note, the course focuses on employees in the workplace and covers sensitive issues, which some people may find upsetting, including suicide and self-harm. Those who feel overwhelmed by the subject matter being discussed can leave the course at any time.
