NRSWA Supervisor Course Overview
The objective of this NRSWA Supervisor Course (New Roads and Street Works Act) is to ensure Supervisors gain the necessary skills and qualifications under the New Roads and Streetworks Act 1991 which allow them to carry out their duties on the public highway, ranging from excavation to permanent re-instatement of paved structures.
Who is the NRSWA Supervisor Course for?
This NRSWA Training course is designed for Supervisors who are required to monitor Operatives performing excavation, backfill and reinstatement duties.
What Does the NRSWA Supervisor Course Cover?
The NRSWA Course for Supervisors is a 5 day course and covers the following units: -
- Unit LA - Location and Avoidance of Underground Apparatus
- Unit S1 - Monitoring Signing, Lighting and Guarding
- Unit S2 - Monitoring Excavation in the Highway
- Unit S3 - Monitoring Reinstatement and Compaction of Back Fill
- Unit S4 - Monitoring Reinstatement of Sub-base and Road Base in Non- Bituminous Materials
- Unit S5 - Monitoring Reinstatement in Bituminous Materials
- Unit S7 - Monitoring Reinstatement of Modular Surfaces and Concrete Footways
It is considered that taking this NRSWA supervisor course is a natural progression following the completion of the New Roads and Street Works Act Operative training which is also a 5 day course.
There is also the NRSWA Supervisor Re-Assessment Course for delegates that have previously taken this NRSWA Supervisor course. The Re-Assessment course must be taken 6 months prior or 6 months after the expiry date of their existing card, factoring in a potential 8 week processing period.
