Ladder Association - Ladder and Step Ladder Inspection Course

Overview

The Ladder Association Ladder and Step Ladder Inspection Course is half day in duration (minimum 4 hours) and is aimed at anyone in the workplace who's duty it may be to inspect and maintain ladders and step ladders. 

In order to attend this Ladder Association course, delegates will be required to have a current Ladder Association Certificate and LadderCard for Ladder and Step Ladder for Users. All delegates are required to have a good understanding of the English language and be capable of lifting and carrying ladders and step ladders during the inspection process. 

Objectives

At the end of this Ladder Asociation training course successful delegates will be able to: -

  • Accurately record details of Ladders and Step Ladders
  • Assess when it is appropriate to inspect a Ladder or Step Ladder
  • Record findings and recommend if any action needs to be taken if faults are found

Agenda

  • The course includes a practical session, please ensure the delegates bring the following PPE with you:
    • Hi-Vis Vest or Coat
    • Work Gloves
    • Safety Footwear
    • Safety Helmet with Chin Strap

The Ladder Inspection course will cover the following agenda: -

  • Legislation and Regulations Relating to the Inspection of Ladders and Step Ladders
  • Identify the Difference Between Pre-Use and Formal Inspections
  • Ladders and Component Parts
  • Inspection Procedure and Documentation
  • Maintenance and Repairs
  • Disposal of Equipment at the End of it's Working Life

Assessment

The Ladder and Step Ladder Inspection course will require all students to complete a multiple choice test paper, a fault finding exercise and practical assessment.  Successful delegates will be issued with a Certificate and LadderCard (Photo I.D. Card) from the Ladder Association which will be valid for 5 years.

Who Should Attend?

The Ladder Association Ladder and Step Ladder Inspection Course is aimed at any person who is required to carry out periodic inspections of ladders or step ladders as part of their job role.

Delegates who wish to take the Ladder Inspection course must have a current Ladder Association Certificate and LadderCard for the Ladder and Step Ladder for Users Course.

  • Can I complete a name change on my booking?

    Yes, a name change can be completed free of charge providing the delegate being substituted has the required pre-requisites. You can submit your request by emailing our customer service team at training@easybooktraining.co.uk or calling on 01892 543000.

  • Why do I need to provide a pre-requisite?

    Pre-requisites are requested when the awarding body requires proof of a previous in date qualification or experience, to ensure delegates are eligible to attend.
