  • What kind of locations need a facilities manager?
  • The consequences of poor management
  • Services management – heating and lighting, furniture, hard and soft services, toilets, water, ventilation, accessibility, cleaning, waste disposal, catering and IT systems.
  • Maintenance and repairs
  • Site security and parking
  • Legal responsibilities
  • Space management – finding premises, managing moves, layout and space efficiency, health and safety
  • Compliance, risk assessments, fire safety, first aid and ergonomics
  • Environmental and social responsibilities

  • Cost management, budgeting and book-keeping
  • Contingency planning and asset registers

Assessment

At the end of this course, you will take an online exam containing 25 multiple-choice questions. The exam is marked automatically and you’ll find out your results straight away. A pass mark of 80% is required, however, if you are unsuccessful, you can re-take the exam as many times as you need to at no extra charge.
