On completion of the theory training, you’ll take a multiple-choice theory test with a pass mark of 80%. If successful, you’ll move on to the practical assessment, which involves building a mobile access tower using both the 3T method (through the trap) and the advanced guardrail (AGR) method.
Students who successfull pass both theory and practical assessments will receive the relevant PASMA Certificate and Photocard, which is valid for five years.
If your job involves the use of mobile access towers, low level access units or podiums, this PASMA course will teach you how to build, adjust, move, inspect and dismantle equipment safely and effectively.
Whether you work on a construction site, in a school, office or factory, the key principles of working with access towers and low level access units apply – inside and outside.
You must be comfortable to work at height, as part of your assessment will be to carry out a practical demonstration of building a mobile access tower.
A good understanding of the English language is also a must, as you will need to read safety notices and be able to explain parts of the manufacturer’s instruction manual.
