If you’re an experienced electrician, this City & Guilds Electric Vehicle Charging Point course will give you the skills and knowledge you need to become competent at installing EV charging equipment in domestic, commercial and on-street settings. Join a rapidly growing market and generate a healthy income as a specialist installer.
Over two days, you’ll learn how to design, install and test a range of electric charging equipment.
Then, once you’ve passed the practical and online assessments, you can register as an authorised installer on the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme (OLEV) and start earning straight away. You'll also be entitled to join the OZEV register to claim government grants per installation.

At the end of this 2-day City & Guilds electric vehicle charger installation course, you’ll need to complete the following written and practical assessments:
Please note: you must bring your photo ID (e.g. passport or driving license) to sit these assessments. If you have your own GS38-compliant tester, you may use it for the practical test.
On successful completion of this training course, you’ll be awarded the City & Guilds 2919-01 Level 3 Award in Domestic, Commercial and Industry Equipment Installation.
If you’re an experienced electrician, this course offers you new skills to work in a lucrative, growing market. You’ll learn how to install the full range of electric charging equipment available – not just ‘on the street’ charging points, but in domestic and commercial settings, too.
You can also join the OLEV/OZEV register of approved installers, which entitles you to claim government grants on installations.
You must be at least 18 years of age to attend this course. It’s also useful to have experience in the inspection and testing of electrical installation and be familiar with the 18th edition wiring regulations.
